External Login Properties window: General tab

This tab has the following components:

  • Name   Shows the name of the remote server and database user if the external login is for a remote server. Shows the name of the directory access server and database user if the external login is for a directory access server.

  • Type   Shows the type of object.

  • Remote server   This field is only shown if the external login applies to a remote server. Shows the name of the remote server to which the external login applies.

  • Directory access server   This field is only shown if the external login applies to a directory access server. Shows the name of the directory access server the external login is used to communicate with.

  • User   Shows the name of the database user the external login is for.

  • Login name   Shows the login name on the remote server. Values for the Login name are restricted to 128 bytes. This only applies to external logins to remote servers.
