Restoring backups

Restore a tenant database from either a full or incremental backup. Restoring a tenant database is necessary if it has become corrupted or data has been lost and you want to restore the database to a previous state.

You must have the RestoreDatabase privilege.

Context and remarks

If you are restoring your tenant database to the most recent backup, then you can choose to also apply the most recent transaction log. Do not choose this option if your database was corrupted by an operation that is in the transaction log.

  1. In the Cloud Console, navigate to the Back Up & Restore panel of the tenant database.

  2. Under Backups, click the relevant backup, click Restore and follow the instructions.

The tenant database is restored, including its mirroring and/or read-only scale-out systems. The database copies are started.
