Restoring or creating a tenant database from a backup

Backups are stored on cloud hosts and can be restored or used to create a tenant database with the same content running on another cloud server.

Restoring a backup replaces the database whose backup it is restoring and requires that database to be stopped. Restoring a backup is useful when a database has become corrupted or data has been lost and you want to restore the database to a previous state. Creating a tenant database from a backup does not require the database to be stopped as it creates a new database that is an exact copy of the original database at the time of the specified backup. Creating a tenant database from a backup can be used to create a temporary copy of a database that can be modified without affecting the existing database.
