Extract a database to create a copy of the database that has all cloud references removed from it, in a specified directory outside the cloud.
The database must be running in the cloud.
You must have the ExtractDatabase privilege.
You must have a user ID and password of a database user with DBA authority.
Context and remarks
The Cloud Extract Tenant Database utility (dbcloudextract) is the recommended method for extracting databases that are larger than 100 MB and/or have dbspaces. If a database is smaller than 100 MB and does not have dbspaces, then use the Cloud Console.
You can also create a copy of a database by using the Backup utility (dbbackup). However, the backed up copy of the database contains cloud references.
At a command prompt, navigate to the Bin32 or Bin64 of the cloud installation directory. For example:
Run the Cloud Extract Tenant Database utility (dbcloudextract).
dbcloudextract -cc "HOST=cloud-host-name;UID=cloud-user-name;PWD=cloud-password" -c "UID=database-user-name;PWD=database-password;DBN=database-name" -drop C:\MyDirectory
