Identifiers are the names of objects in the cloud, including the cloud, maintenance plans, rules, schedules, staging directories, and tags.
These identifiers can:
Have a maximum length of 128 bytes
Contain only the following ASCII punctuation characters: dash (-), space ( ), colon (:), underscore (_), at sign (@), pound sign (#), percent sign (%), left parenthesis ((), right parenthesis ()), and period (.)
Contain any alphabetic or numeric character (including non-ASCII characters) defined by the regular expression '[:alnum:]'
Contain full-length parentheses (\uff08 and \uff09)
Enclose an identifier in double quotes or square brackets if any of the following conditions are true:
The identifier contains spaces.
The first character of the identifier is not an alphabetic character or digit. Alphabetic characters include the alphabet, the underscore character (_), at sign (@), and number sign (#).
The identifier contains characters other than alphabetic characters and digits, such as colons (:), periods (.), and dollar signs ($).
The following characters are not permitted in identifiers:
Control characters (any character less than 0x20)
