Create a maintenance plan and apply it to a database, or group of databases, running in the cloud.
You must have the BackupDatabase and RunScheduleTask privileges.
By default, tenant databases are backed up once a week and have an expiry date that is one week after the backup was created. The number of backups kept after the expiry date is three.
Every time a maintenance plan is run, it deletes all expired backups except a number of the database's most recent backups as specified by the maintenance plan running the backup.
If you created a maintenance plan and made it the default, then it is only applied to databases subsequently added to the cloud. If you want databases currently running in the cloud to use the new default plan, then you must explicitly apply the plan to the databases.
A default plan can be overridden by applying a different maintenance plan to the database.
The maintenance plan is created and applied to the specified database or group of databases.
