Configuring a database to autostart and autostop

Configure a database so that it starts automatically during a connection attempt and stops automatically after the last connection disconnects.

Prerequisites

The database cannot be involved in a mirroring or read-only scale-out system.

You must have the AlterDatabase privilege to configure the database.

Procedure

Choose one of the following options:
Option Action
Configure a database to autostart and autostop when it is added to the cloud by using the Cloud Console See the documentation for adding a tenant database using the Cloud Console.
Configure a database to autostart and autostop when it is added to the cloud by using the dbcloudadd utility Specify the -autostart and -autostop_wait_time options. See the documentation for adding a tenant database using the dbcloudadd utility.
Configure an existing tenant database to autostart by using the Cloud Console Wizard
  1. In the Cloud Console, navigate to the Overview panel of the tenant database.

  2. Under Database Properties, click Change to change the Autostart Enabled database property.

  3. Follow the instructions in the window.

Configure an existing tenant database to autostart by running the AlterDatabase task Run the AlterDatabase task with the autostart and autostop_wait_time parameters.

Results

The database is configured to autostart and autostop.
