Starting cloud servers

Start a cloud server to make it available in the cloud.

You must have the StartStopServer privilege.

You can restart cloud servers that were previously stopped.

If you are starting a significant number of cloud servers, for example after repairing a host or restarting the cloud, run the StartServer task using a filter to specify only those cloud servers that you want to start. Starting all cloud servers takes a significant amount of time.

  1. In the Cloud Console, navigate to the Servers panel.
  2. Select the cloud server that you want to start.
  3. Click Start.

The specified cloud server is started. The ports that the cloud server uses depend upon whether it is a cloud partner or cloud arbiter, or whether it uses static ports.
