Upgrade a tenant database to the same major and minor version as the cloud server that it is running on.
You must have the Administrator privilege.
When upgrading a database to a version 16 or later database, specify whether the system procedures execute with the privileges of their owner (definer) or with the privileges of the invoker. The default is to retain the invoker/definer behavior of the database being upgraded.
When upgrading a version 12 database, ensure that it is backed up as part of the upgrade.
Upgrading a tenant database in the cloud is similar to upgrading a SQL Anywhere database that exists outside of the cloud.
When upgrading a database involved in a mirroring or read-only scale out system, all database copies, including the mirror, are dropped and recreated.
During the upgrade, connections to the database are disabled.
The database is upgraded and the database is returned to its running state before the upgrade. That is, if the database was running before the upgrade, it is started after the upgrade.
