A cloud software package can either contain both cloud and cloud server software, or only cloud server software.
Cloud software contains the software required for upgrading the cloud infrastructure, as well as a version of the cloud server software. The cloud infrastructure includes the Cloud Console, and the logic for cloud features, such as users, privileges, tasks, rules, maintenance plans, events, and tags. Install a newer version of the cloud software to upgrade the cloud infrastructure. As part of the cloud upgrade process, the included cloud server software is installed on each cloud host. You can also install cloud software on individual hosts without affecting the cloud infrastructure.
Cloud server software contains a version of the software required to run a cloud server on a host. Installing cloud server software on a host makes the software available for use on the host. To use the newly installed version of the cloud server software, change the software version of your existing cloud servers.
A host can support cloud servers running multiple versions of the software. For example, on one host you can have cloud servers running version 12, 16, and 17 software.
