CreateServer task

Creates a cloud server on a host.

Syntax 1 (SQL)
CALL DBCloud.CreateServer ( host=host [, optional-parameters ] )
Syntax 2 (Cloud Command utility)
dbcloudcmd run CreateServer host [ optional-parameters ]
Parameters
  • server

    An output parameter. For internal use only.

  • host

    The target host. Accepts a search query that identifies one host, for example a host name or ID. (Required)

  • cloud_version

    The software version to use for the new cloud server. The default version is the one included with the currently installed cloud infrastructure software.

  • page_size

    The maximum database page size that can be used on the new cloud server. The supported values are 4096, 8192, 16384, or 32768. The default is 4096.

  • server_commandline

    SQL Anywhere server options. The default is ''. This parameter accepts most, but not all, SQL Anywhere server options.

  • tcp_port

    The TCP/IP port for the cloud server or NULL. The default is NULL.

  • http_port

    The HTTP port for the cloud server or NULL. The default is NULL.

  • https_port

    The HTTPS port for the cloud server or NULL. The default is NULL.

  • annotation

    The special annotated software. For internal use only. The default is NULL.

Remarks

The cloud server is automatically started once it has been created.

When a cloud server is created, it is assigned a port number from the port range associated with the host.

Cloud servers are named according to the convention host-name # server-number, where host-name is the name of the host running the cloud server, and server-number is the ordinal number of the cloud server on the host.

Note Concurrent executions of the CreateServer task can fail. Ensure that multiple CreateServer tasks are run sequentially.

Example

Run the following task to create a cloud server with a page size of 8192 bytes on the host myhost:
