Remarks

To create a user, you must have CreateDropUser privilege. To grant the user privileges, you must also have one of the following privileges:

  • ManageUserPrivilege. A user with ManageUserPrivilege can grant or revoke any privilege.

  • DelegatePrivilege. A user with DelegatePrivilege can only grant their own privileges.

  • user_name

The user name that you specify must be unique in the cloud. In the Cloud Console, the user is identified by what you specify in the full_name parameter.

  • web_console_preferences

Omit this parameter. The web_console_preferences parameter stores Cloud Console-specific user preferences.

Run the following task to create a user named John Smith:

dbcloudcmd run CreateUser user_name=jsmith password=sql full_name="john smith" email_address="jsmith@smithcloud.com"

Run the following task to create a user named JSmith with CreateDropTag and AddRemoveTag privileges:

dbcloudcmd run CreateUser user_name=jsmith password=sql user_privileges="CreateDropTag,AddRemoveTag"
