DropDatabase task

Drops the database from the cloud and deletes all database files.

Syntax 1 (SQL)
CALL DBCloud.DropDatabase ( database=database )
Syntax 2 (Cloud Command utility)
dbcloudcmd run DropDatabase database
Parameters
  • database

    The database to drop. Accepts a search query that identifies one database, for example a database name or ID. (Required)

Remarks

This task deletes a tenant database along with all its database copies and associated files, such as transaction logs, dbspaces, and backup files.

Before dropping a database, ensure that it is stopped.

Example

Run the following task to drop the tenant database named mydatabase:

dbcloudcmd run DropDatabase database=mydatabase

Run the following task to drop the tenant database on the host myhost that has the tag mytag (an error is returned unless there is one exact match):

dbcloudcmd run DropDatabase database="host:myhost and tag:mytag"
