Deletes a cloud server.

Syntax 1 (SQL)
CALL DBCloud.DropServer ( server=server )
Syntax 2 (Cloud Command utility)
dbcloudcmd run DropServer server
Parameters
  • server

The cloud server to drop. Accepts a search query that identifies one cloud server, for example a cloud server name or ID. (Required)

Required privileges

CreateDropServer

Remarks

Before dropping a cloud server, ensure that it is stopped. If necessary, extract any databases running on the cloud server or move the databases to another cloud server.

The cloud server is dropped and any data files associated with it are deleted.

You cannot drop the cloud server running the primary database in a tenant mirroring system. You must first initiate failover so that the primary database becomes the mirror, at which point the cloud server can be dropped.

You cannot drop a cloud partner or a cloud arbiter.

Example

Run the following task to drop the cloud server my-server#3:

dbcloudcmd run DropServer server=my-server#3
