SAP SQL Anywhere, on-demand edition 1.0 SP 6 » Task syntax

MoveDatabaseCopy task

Moves a database copy from one cloud server to another.

Syntax 1 (SQL)
CALL DBCloud.MoveDatabaseCopy ( databasecopy=databasecopy, server=server )
Syntax 2 (Cloud Command utility)
dbcloudcmd run MoveDatabaseCopy databasecopy server
Parameters
  • databasecopy

The database copy to move. Accepts a database copy name, ID, or a search that returns a database copy. (Required)

  • server

The cloud server to move the database copy to. Accepts a search query that identifies one cloud server, for example a cloud server name or ID. (Required)

Required privileges

MoveDatabase, AlterTenantMirroring

Remarks

You must have a cloud server that is not currently running a copy (scale-out, primary, or mirror) of the tenant database. This cloud server must be of the same version as the cloud server that the database copy is currently running on.

You cannot run the MoveDatabaseCopy task on the read-write database of a read-only scale-out system.

If the database copy is not running, MoveDatabaseCopy moves the files to the specified cloud server.

You can use this task to move a mirror or primary database, as long as the arbiter and primary database are running.

Connections to the database may be temporarily disabled.

Use the following format to specify the database copy:

database-name@server-name

Example

Run the following task to move the scale-out database copy of the database mydatabase running on the cloud server my-server#2 to the cloud server my-server#3:

dbcloudcmd run MoveDatabaseCopy databasecopy=mydatabase@my-server#2 server=my-server#3
