SAP SQL Anywhere, on-demand edition 1.0 SP 6 » Task syntax

SetArbiter task

Sets the arbiter for a tenant mirroring system.

Syntax 1 (SQL)
CALL DBCloud.SetArbiter ( database=database, server=server )
Syntax 2 (Cloud Command utility)
dbcloudcmd run SetArbiter database server
Parameters
  • database

The tenant database. Accepts a search query that identifies one database, for example a database name or ID. (Required)

  • server

The cloud server to set as arbiter. Accepts a search query that identifies one cloud server, for example a cloud server name or ID. (Required)

Required privileges

AlterTenantMirroring

Remarks

This task sets the specified cloud server as the arbiter in a tenant mirroring system. There can only be one arbiter for a tenant database. To change the tenant arbiter, set another cloud server as the tenant arbiter; the previous cloud server relinquishes the arbiter role.

Setting the server parameter to NULL removes the arbiter definition from the cloud server. You can only remove the arbiter definition if the database has one partner defined.

The arbiter must be set before a mirror database can be created.

Example

Run the following task to set the cloud server my-server#3 as the arbiter for the tenant database mydatabase:

dbcloudcmd run SetArbiter database=mydatabase server=my-server#3
