SAP SQL Anywhere, on-demand edition 1.0 SP 6 » Task syntax

StartDatabaseCopy task

Starts an existing copy of a database in the cloud.

Syntax 1 (SQL)
CALL DBCloud.StartDatabaseCopy ( databasecopy=databasecopy )
Syntax 2 (Cloud Command utility)
dbcloudcmd run StartDatabaseCopy databasecopy
Parameters
  • databasecopy

The database copy to start. Accepts a database copy name, ID, or a search query that returns a database copy. (Required)

Required privileges

StartStopDatabase

Remarks

This task can be used to start only the primary and mirror databases without starting all of the read-only scale-out copies of the tenant database, or to start stopped scale-out database copies of a running database.

You cannot start a scale-out database copy in a read-only scale-out system if the read-write database is not running. You cannot start a mirror database if the primary database is not running. Starting the primary database automatically starts the mirror database.

Use the following format to specify the database copy:

database-name@server-name

Example

Run the following task to start the scale-out database copy of the tenant database mydatabase on the cloud server myserver#3:

dbcloudcmd run StartDatabaseCopy databasecopy=mydatabase@myserver#3

Run the following task to start the scale-out database copy of the database db1 on the cloud server my-server#2.

dbcloudcmd run StartDatabaseCopy "database:db1 and server:my-server#2"
