Configuring auditing (Sybase Central)

You can use Sybase Central to configure auditing for security-related information in the transaction log. Auditing is off by default.

Prerequisites

You must have the SET ANY SECURITY OPTION system privilege.

 Task
  1. In Sybase Central, use the SQL Anywhere 16 plug-in to connect to the database.

  2. Right-click the database and click Properties.

  3. Click the Auditing tab and choose one of the following:

    • Do Not Collect Audit Information For This Database   No audit information is collected. This option disables auditing by setting the auditing database option to Off.

    • Collect All Audit Information For This Database   All types of auditing information are collected for the database. This option enables auditing by setting the auditing database option to On.

The transaction log can grow significantly when this option is selected.

    • Collect The Following Type(s) Of Audit Information For This Database   Allows you to specify which auditing information to collect. For example, you can choose to collect only DDL changes.

Selecting this option changes the setting of the auditing_options database option.

  4. Click OK.

Results

The auditing behavior is configured.
