Start the sample database on your Windows Mobile device so that you can connect to it from Interactive SQL.
This lesson assumes that you have the roles and privileges listed in the Privileges section at the start of this tutorial: Tutorial: Managing Windows Mobile databases with Interactive SQL.
On your Windows Mobile device, tap Start » Programs » SQLAny16.
In the Database field, type the path of the sample database. The default location is \My Documents\demo.db. Alternately, use Browse to locate the demo.db file.
In the Server Name field, type MobileServer.
In the Cache field, type 5M.
The default cache size on Windows Mobile is 600 KB. However, a larger cache size is recommended because it can help improve performance.
In the Options field, type -x tcpip(port=2639).
The port that the database server uses is 2639. It is best to avoid using port 2638 because it is the default TCP/IP port for a SQL Anywhere server running on your desktop system. For more information, see -x database server option.
Click Use TCP/IP.
A TCP/IP connection is necessary to connect from a desktop computer to the database running on your Windows Mobile device.
Tap OK to start the sample database running on the network database server.
Navigate to the Today screen on your device.
Tap the database server icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen.
