Lesson 2: Starting Interactive SQL and connecting

Now that the sample database is running on your Windows Mobile device, connect to it from Interactive SQL to view and manage the database from your desktop computer.

Prérequis

This lesson assumes that you have completed all preceding lessons. See Lesson 1: Starting the sample database.

This lesson assumes that you have the roles and privileges listed in the Privileges section at the start of this tutorial: Tutorial: Managing Windows Mobile databases with Interactive SQL.

 Task
  1. Start Interactive SQL. On the desktop computer, click Start » Programs » SQL Anywhere 16 » Administration Tools » Interactive SQL.

  2. In the Connect window, complete the following fields:

    1. In the Authentication dropdown list, select Database.

    2. In the User ID field, type DBA.

    3. In the Password field, type sql.

    4. In the Action dropdown list, select Connect to a running database on another computer.

    5. In the Host field, type 169.254.2.1.

    6. In the Port field, type 2639.

    7. In the Server Name field, type MobileServer.

    8. In the Database Name field, type Demo.

  3. Click Connect to connect to the sample database that is running on your Windows Mobile device.

Résultat

Interactive SQL is started on your desktop computer and is connected to the sample database on your Windows Mobile device.
