Model mode allows you to customize the options you chose in the Create Synchronization wizard. For example, from Model mode you can customize one table to be download-only and another to be upload-only.
When you are working in Model mode, you are offline. Changes you make are made to the model file. When you deploy, you can choose whether to apply changes to your consolidated database immediately or create files that you can run later to make the changes.
Model mode includes the following tabs:
Mappings The Mappings tab contains two panes: the Table Mappings pane and the Details pane. For descriptions of the options in this tab, see Mappings: Table Mappings.
Events The Events tab allows you to view or modify the synchronization scripts. For descriptions of the options in this tab, see Events tab.
Authentication The Authentication tab allows you to view or modify the MobiLink authentication method you want to use for the model. For descriptions of the options in this tab, see Authentication tab.
Notification The Notification tab allows you to view or modify the model's server-initiated synchronization settings. For descriptions of the options in this tab, see Notification tab.
