A SQL Anywhere consolidated database typically resides on a corporate server, and is set up to track synchronization information. Other central data can be stored in any other format, such as a non-relational database, web service, or text file.
However, there may be occasions for you to use the larger SQL Anywhere database as another remote database as well.
