Starting the Message Agent on Mac OS X

SQL Anywhere includes an application called SyncConsole that can be used to start the SQL Remote Message Agent on Mac OS X. You can also start the Message Agent on Mac OS X using the dbremote utility.

To start SyncConsole

  1. In the Finder, go to /Applications/SQLAnywhere11.

  2. Double-click SyncConsole.

  3. Choose File » New » SQL Remote.

    A client options window appears.

  4. Enter the connection information for the SQL Remote Message Agent.

    For example, the following connection parameter uses an ODBC data source for the SQL Anywhere demo database:

    DSN="SQL Anywhere 11 Demo"
