TAN function [Numeric]

Returns the tangent of a number.

Syntax
TAN( numeric-expression )
Parameters
  • numeric-expression   An angle, in radians.

Returns

DOUBLE

Remarks

The ATAN and TAN functions are inverse operations.

This function converts its argument to DOUBLE, performs the computation in double-precision floating point, and returns a DOUBLE as the result.

Example

The following statement returns the value of the tan of 0.52.
