Connect window: Identification tab (UltraLite)

This tab has the following components:

User ID   Type a user ID for the database connection. The user ID you supply must have permissions on a database to connect. See UltraLite UID connection parameter.

Password   Type a password for the connection. This must be the correct password for the user ID you supply. Passwords are case sensitive. See UltraLite PWD connection parameter.

Database file   Specify the database file. Type the full path and name of the database file, for example, C:\myuldb.db. See UltraLite DBF connection parameter.

You can also select a recently-used database file from the dropdown list or click Browse to search for the database file.

  • Encryption key   If the database file is encrypted, you must supply a key to UltraLite every time UltraLite starts the database.

The Encryption key field is enabled only after you fill in the Database File field. See UltraLite DBKEY connection parameter.

Tools   The Tools button is only available if you have ActiveSync installed. The following tool is available:

  • Setup Windows Mobile proxy port   This tool helps you set up a TCP/IP port redirector for connecting to Windows Mobile databases (if Windows Mobile services are installed). This tool is only available if you have ActiveSync installed and are connecting an UltraLite database.
