This procedure uses the Deploy Synchronization Model Wizard to deploy the consolidated database and remote database. You can deploy the consolidated database and remote database individually or both of them.
In the left pane of Sybase Central, right-click a synchronization model and choose Deploy.
On the Welcome page, click Specify The Deployment Details For One Or More Of The Following and select Consolidated Database, Remote Database and Synchronization Client, and MobiLink Server. Click Next.
On the Consolidated Database Deployment Destination page, do the following:
Select Save Changes To The Following SQL File. For this tutorial, use the default location.
Click Connect To The Consolidated Database To Directly Apply The Changes to apply the changes to the consolidated database immediately.
Click Choose A Consolidated Database.
Click ODBC Data Source Name and choose oracle_cons.
A message appears asking if you want to create the consolidated directory. Click Yes.
On the Remote Database Deployment page, select New SQL Anywhere Database. Click Next.
On the New SQL Anywhere Remote Database page, do the following:
Click Make A Command File And A SQL File With Commands To Create The Database.
In the SQL File field, accept the default location of the SQL file.
Click Create A Remote SQL Anywhere Database.
A message appears asking if you want to create the remote directory. Click Yes.
On the MobiLink User page, do the following:
In the What User Name Do You Want To Use For Connecting To The MobiLink Server field, type oracle_remote.
In the What Password Do You Want To Use field, type oracle_pass.
On the Synchronization Stream Parameters page, click TCP/IP and in the Port field, type 2439. Click Next.
On the Client Stream Parameters page, in the Host field, type localhost. Click Next.
To accept the default settings, click Next on the MobiLink Server Stream Parameters and Verbosity For MobiLink Server pages.
On the Options For MobiLink Server page, in the What Name Do You Want To Give The MobiLink Server field, type oracle_mlsrv.
A message appears asking if you want to create the mlsrv directory. Click Yes.
On the Verbosity For SQL Anywhere Remote Synchronization Client page, choose the verbosity for the remote synchronization client and use the default file name of the remote database log file. Click Finish.
Your consolidated database is fully configured for synchronization with many remote clients, and you have successfully deployed one remote client. If you want to deploy other remote clients, you can run this wizard again, making sure to create a new MobiLink user and opt out of deploying the consolidated database and MobiLink server. Since these have already been deployed, all you need to do is deploy other remote synchronization clients.
