Restarting the SNMP Extension Agent

When the contents of the sasnmp.ini file change, you must restart the SNMP Extension Agent for the changes to take effect.

Prerequisites

You must be an administrator on your computer.

 Task

  • Using your SNMP management tool, change the value of the saAgent.saRestart property, 1.3.6.1.4.1.897.2.3.6, to 1.

Results

The changes to the SNMP Extension Agent take effect.

You can obfuscate the contents of the sasnmp.ini file with simple encryption using the File Hiding utility (dbfhide).
