Connect window: Connect to an SAP HANA database with an ODBC data source

If present, click to choose a different database or server type to connect to.

Type a user ID and password for the server.

Use the action Connect with an ODBC data source when you want to connect to a database using an ODBC data source.

When this action is chosen, the following options are available:

ODBC Data Source name Select this option and type the ODBC data source name to connect to the database.
- Open The ODBC Data Source Administrator button On Windows, you can click the Open the ODBC Data Source Administrator button to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator window where you can select an ODBC data source from the list of available data sources, create a new data source, or configure an existing data source to use for the connection.
ODBC Data Source file Select this option and type the ODBC data source file name for the connection.

Tip

Any information you enter in this Connect window, such as the user ID or password, is used instead of the parameters stored in an ODBC data source or an ODBC data source file.

The following tools are available:

Test Connection This tool tests whether the information provided results in a proper connection.
Copy Connection String to Clipboard This tool copies the connection string, which is based on the information provided, to the clipboard.

If required, you can click Advanced to specify options such as TCP/IP, encryption, and other advanced connection options.
