Deploy Synchronization Model Wizard: Client Network Options page

This page allows you to choose network options that clients use to connect to the MobiLink server.

  • Choose how remote synchronization clients will connect to the MobiLink server   Choose from the following options:

    • Protocol   Choose one of the following options:

      • TCP/IP   Select this option and specify a port to use TCP/IP for communications between the MobiLink client and server. This is the default, and is recommended for the best performance.

      • TLS   Select this option and specify a port to use TCP/IP with transport-layer security for communications between the MobiLink client and server.

      • HTTP   Select this option and specify a port to use the standard web protocol for communications between the MobiLink client and server.

      • HTTPS   Select this option and specify a port to use HTTPS with transport-layer security for communications between the MobiLink client and server.

        Note

        Separately licensed component required.

FIPS-certified encryption requires a separate license. All strong encryption technologies are subject to export regulations.

        See Separately licensed components.

When you select a protocol that is specified on the MobiLink command line, the wizard fills in the host, port and other options fields with the appropriate default values. You may need to change these values. In particular, when the TLS or HTTPS protocols are chosen, you must fill in additional communication settings.

    • Host   Type the host name or IP address of the MobiLink server computer.

    • Port   Type the socket port number on which the MobiLink server should listen. The default port is 2439 for TCP/IP and TLS, 80 for HTTP and 443 for HTTPS.

    • Other options   Specify additional client network options separated by semicolons, in the form ( option=value;... ) or click Browse to see the options available for the chosen communication protocol. See MobiLink client network protocol options. MobiLink client network protocol options.

    • Current network options   Shows the client network options currently selected.
