ST_PointFromText function [Spatial]

ST_PointFromText(wkt, srid)

Name	Type	Description
wkt	VARCHAR	The WKT representation.
srid	INT	The spatial reference system identifier of the result is indicated by the SRID parameter.

ST_Geometry Returns an ST_Geometry value created from the input string.
The spatial reference system identifier of the result is the given by parameter srid.

The following statement returns the result SRID=4326;Point( 10 20 ) to show that a point has been created at (10, 20) in the 4326 reference system:

SELECT ST_PointFromText('Point(10 20)',4326)
